Course Description
This hands-on, foundation-level course covers the essentials of AutoCAD® Civil 3D® software as it applies to Land Surveyors, including how to import and export data, set up and manage survey database, create point and figure styles, set up and manage linework code set, create a survey drawing template, surface creation and analysis, long-sections.
Objectives
The primary objective of the course is to familiarize students with the concepts and application of the essential functions of Autodesk Civil 3D as they apply to Land Surveying. After completing this course, students should be able to:
- Create points, change point styles, and manage points in groups
- Set up description files
- Create and manage survey databases
- Create setting out data
- Create linework code sets to automatically process linework
- Insert blocks based on field coding
- Import survey data
- Create, edit & analyse surfaces
- Export point and design data
Who Should Attend
Land Surveyors, Civil Engineers, technicians or draughting personnel working with Civil 3D for creating finished survey drawings from topographical survey data.
Prerequisite: Students should have a working knowledge of AutoCAD 2018 or later. Some familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
