AutoCAD Civil 3D Junction & Roundabout Design Syllabus
Course Description
This hands-on, intermediate-level course covers the essentials of AutoCAD® Civil 3D® software as it applies to junction design, including how to design junctions both manually and using AutoCAD Civil 3D junction design tools, including the use of Autocad Civil 3D for the complete 2D and 3D design of a roundabout.
Objectives
The primary objective of the course is to familiarize students with the concepts and application of the essential functions of Autodesk Civil 3D as they apply to junction design and roundabout design including the recommended workflows and basic skills needed to create, model and modify roundabouts using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
After completing this course, students should be able to use the junction design tools in Civil 3D, Model Junctions using a manual approach, Model Junctions to tie into existing conditions, Design upgrades of existing junctions, create and edit a roundabout design in 2D and 3D.
Who Should Attend
The target audience for this class includes experienced Civil Engineers, technicians or draughting personnel working with Civil 3D, and having a firm grasp on the fundamental features of Civil 3D and engineering principles
Prerequisite:
Students should have completed either a Civil 3D Road Design or Overlay Design Essentials course or be of equivalent proficiency prior to attending this course, and have experience with civil engineering processes and terminology.
